Hot Wheels Wonder Woman Invisible Jet SDCC 2010 Exclusive
As you can see, there is an actual “invisible” jet and not just the empty box that was popularized by an April Fools joke. Get yours only at SDCC!
Here’s the official word from Matty’s Facebook:
On April 1st, Hot Wheels sent a message to Facebook fans (http://Facebook.com/HotWheels) saying that the brand was going to show them a sneak peek of one of our 2011 New Models. The image that we posted was of Wonder Woman’s Invisible Jet. The response to the joke was so positive that the fans asked for the brand to actually make it for real. So, just in time for DC Comics’ 75th Anniversary, Hot Wheels presents Wonder Woman’s Invisible Jet! Get it fast before it disappears!
Wonder Woman’s Invisible Jet was originally an 2010 April Fool’s prank, but there was such a demand by fans that Mattel actually made it into a “real” product. This is Mattel’s April Fool’s message:
“Hey, Hot Wheels fans. We’ve got a special sneak peek of one of our hot vehicle releases for 2011…it’s Wonder Woman’s Invisible Jet! We worked really closely with our friends at DC comics to make sure the details were perfect. Check it out here!”
This is Mattel’s reaction to the massive fan request:
“After seeing your response to last week’s April Fool’s hoax (Wonder Woman’s Invisible Jet), we’re talking to our partners over at DC Comics and Warner Bros. about making this joke a “limited edition” reality. Details to come!”
The Invisible Jet cost $5 at San Diego Comic Con.
In 2017 the Invisible Jet was “re-released”. It was used as a Walmart Mail In promotion. Spend $20 at Walmart from 05/28/17 to 07/08/17 and mail the receipts to Mattel.

The original idea for Hot Wheels® Wonder Woman’s Invisible Jet™ was an April Fool’s prank on Hot Wheels® collectors. Hot Wheels® announced that it was going to show a sneak peek of a new model for the upcoming year and posted an image of Wonder Woman’s Invisible Jet™ online. The response was so positive that Hot Wheels® decided to make the joke a reality and offer it as a Comic Con exclusive.
Now the story continues with the exclusive 2017 edition. Epically posed with her Lasso of Truth atop the impossibly fast Invisible Jet™, Wonder Woman is ready to tackle whatever obstacles come her way. Villains beware, her superhuman strength, speed and trademark bulletproof-bracelets are even more powerful when you don’t see them coming!
WONDER WOMAN
Wonder Woman is a DC Comics superheroine created by William Moulton Marston. She first appeared in All Star Comics #8 (December 1941). The Wonder Woman title has been published by DC Comics almost continuously since the company’s 1944 inception, except for a brief hiatus in 1986.
Wonder Woman is an Amazon (based on the Amazons of Greek mythology) and was created by Marston, an American, as a “distinctly feminist role model whose mission was to bring the Amazon ideals of love, peace, and sexual equality to a world torn by the hatred of men.” Her powers include superhuman strength, flight, super-speed, super-stamina, and super-agility. She is highly proficient in hand-to-hand combat and in the art of tactical warfare. She also possesses an animal-like cunning and a natural rapport with animals, which has in the past been presented as an actual ability to communicate with the animal kingdom. She uses her Lasso of Truth, which forces those bound by it to tell the truth, a pair of indestructible bracelets, and an invisible airplane.
Created during World War II, the character was initially depicted fighting the Axis military forces, as well as an assortment of supervillains. In later decades, some writers maintained the World War II setting, while others updated the series to reflect the present day. Wonder Woman has also regularly appeared in comic books featuring the superhero teams Justice Society (from 1941) and Justice League (from 1960). Arguably the most popular and iconic female superhero in comics, Wonder Woman is also considered a feminist icon, and she is informally grouped with Superman and Batman as one of a “trinity” of DC characters regarded as especially important. Diana is regarded as extremely physically attractive even by the standards of the superheroine. She was named the twentieth greatest comic book character by Empire magazine.
In addition to the comics, the character has appeared in other media – most notably the 1975–1979 Wonder Woman TV series starring Lynda Carter, but also cartoons such as the Super Friends and Justice League. Although a number of attempts have been made to adapt the character to live-action film, none has yet emerged from “development hell”. An animated film was released in 2009, with Keri Russell voicing the title role.
